Sam Briggs & Stacie Tovar Drop Out Of CrossFit Regionals –

Sam Briggs has decided to decline her invite to regionals as she recently suffered a joint fracture as well a ruptured medial ligament.  Briggs is keeping her spirits high as she is planning on competing in the qualifiers in August.

Stacie Tovar, an eight-time CrossFit Game competitor, has also announced that she is declining her invitation to regionals and will not be competing this year.

Tia Clair Toomy Wins Gold In the Common Wealth Games –

Tia Clair Toomey, a 2017 CrossFit Games winner from Australia, recently took her talent to the next functional level and won gold in the Common Wealth Games within the 58kg weight class.

Toomey won her weight class with a total of 210 kg, with a 87 kg snatch and a 114 kg clean and jerk.  Toomey’s main goal was to have 6 solid lifts no matter what the weight, and she did exactly that.

Toomey is about to compete in her fourth CrossFit Regionals in hopes of making it the CrossFit Games.






Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson Wins “Europe’s Strongest Man” Title –

Björnsson, also known as “Thor,” recently won his fourth Europe Strongest Man Competition.  Lifts included the Axle De
adlift, Farmer’s Walk, Car Walk, and Atlas Stones.

Back in March, Björnsson participated in the Strong Man Classic and broke the deadlift record by successfully lifting 472 kg (1,1041 lb.)

Björnsson and thirty other athletes from their counties will now be in the running to compete at the World’s Strongest Man which will take place April 28th through May 1st.
